What is Gentlr™?
Gentlr™ is an AI-powered communication coach that transforms your messages to be more positive, clear, and professional. Whether you're writing a Slack message, WhatsApp text, LinkedIn post, or email, Gentlr helps you communicate better.
How It Works
- Paste your message — Write or paste the text you want to improve
- Choose your platform — Select Slack, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or Email
- Adjust settings — Set intensity, enable clarity/concise options
- Transform — Click the button and get your improved message
- Copy & use — Copy the result and paste it into your app
💡 Tip: Create an account to save presets, keep message history, and track your writing improvements over time.
Your Account Menu
Once logged in, click your username in the header to access:
- Settings — Language, intensity, custom tone, culture-aware mode, history preferences, and privacy options
- Analytics — View your communication improvement stats
- Promo Code — Redeem codes for bonus transforms or features
- Log Out — Sign out of your account
The 🕐 History button provides quick access to your saved transformations.

Intensity Levels
Control how much your message is transformed:
- Low — Subtle improvements, keeps your original voice
- Medium — Balanced transformation (recommended)
- High — Significant rewriting for maximum positivity
Tone Selector
Fine-tune the voice of your message beyond just positivity. The tone selector offers 11 options:
- No Change — Default. No tone modification (but Custom Tone Profile still applies if configured)
- Professional — Business-appropriate and polished
- Friendly — Warm and approachable
- Empathetic — Understanding and supportive
- Casual — Relaxed and conversational (Premium+)
- Formal — Traditional and proper (Premium+)
- Enthusiastic — Energetic and excited (Premium+)
- Diplomatic — Tactful and balanced (Premium+)
- Assertive — Confident and direct (Premium+)
- Warm — Caring and personal (Premium+)
- Neutral — Balanced and objective (Premium+)
Your tone selection is saved automatically and can also be included in presets.

🎛️ Presets
Presets let you save your favorite combinations of settings for one-click access. Perfect for different contexts like "Friendly Slack Reply" or "Formal Client Email".
Creating a Preset
- Configure your desired settings (platform, intensity, clarity, etc.)
- Click the preset button in the Message Type row
- Select "Save Current as Preset"
- Give your preset a name and optional description
- Click Save
Using a Preset
- Click the preset button (shows "No Preset" or current preset name)
- Select a preset from the dropdown
- All settings are instantly applied

🕐 Message History & Templates
Keep track of all your transformations and save your best messages as reusable templates.
Message History
When enabled, Gentlr™ automatically saves your transformations so you can find and reuse them later.
- Access history — Click the 🕐 History button in the header
- Search — Find past messages by typing in the search box
- Filter — Filter by message type (Slack, Email, etc.) or favorites
- Use Again — Load a past message back into the input
- Copy — Copy the transformed text directly to clipboard
Tips & Culture Insights
History cards show expandable details from your transformations:
- 💡 Tips badge — Shows improvement suggestions from the AI analysis
- 🌍 Culture badge — Shows cultural adaptations when Culture-Aware Mode was used
- Expand/Collapse — Click the badges to toggle details for each item
- Expand All — When you have 3+ items with details, use the "Expand All" button at the top
History Settings
Control your history by clicking your username → Settings → Message History:
- Auto-save — Toggle automatic saving of transformations
- Retention period — Choose how long to keep history (7 days to forever)
- Clear history — Delete all saved messages
Favorites
Star your best transformations for quick access:
- Click the ⭐ star icon on any history item
- Access favorites using the "⭐ Favorites" filter
- Favorites are never auto-deleted regardless of retention settings
Templates
Save messages as templates when you want to reuse the same text as a starting point:
- In history, click the menu (⋮) on an item
- Select "Save as Template"
- Give your template a name and optional description
- Optionally, link a preset to automatically apply those settings when using the template
- Access templates via the 📑 Templates dropdown next to Presets
Editing Templates: Click the Edit button on any template to modify its name, description, category, linked preset, and the template text itself.
Templates vs Presets: Templates save your message text. Presets save your settings (message type, intensity, tone, options). Link a preset to a template to apply both together.
Edited Text
When you edit a transformed message before copying:
- Your edits are automatically saved to history
- Edited messages show a green "Edited" badge
- Copying from history uses your edited version
Privacy Note: Your message history is stored securely and only accessible to you. You can delete individual items or clear all history at any time.
🧩 Browser Extension & Bookmarklet
Transform text from any webpage without switching to the Gentlr app!
Chrome Extension
Our browser extension brings Gentlr™ directly to any webpage:
- Floating button — Select text anywhere and a transform button appears
- Popup window — Click the extension icon to open a quick transform panel
- Context menu — Right-click selected text and choose "Transform with Gentlr"
- Remembers settings — Your last-used options are saved automatically
Installing the Extension
- Visit our Browser Tools page
- Download the Chrome extension package
- Open

- Click "Load unpacked" and select the extension folder
Bookmarklet
For quick access without installing an extension:
- Visit the Browser Tools page
- Drag the "Gentlr Transform" button to your bookmarks bar
- Select text on any page and click the bookmarklet
- Gentlr opens with your text pre-filled
iOS Share Sheet
On iPhone/iPad, you can share text directly to Gentlr:
- Select text in any app
- Tap Share
- Choose Gentlr from your shortcuts (setup required)

Getting Access to Viewsifier™
Viewsifier™ is currently available by request during our beta period. Here's how to get access:
- Log in to your Gentlr™ account
- Select LinkedIn as your platform
- Click on the Viewsifier™ toggle (you'll see a lock icon if you don't have access)
- Click "Request Access" in the popup
- Optionally add a message explaining how you plan to use the feature
- Submit your request
Our team reviews requests and typically responds within 24-48 hours. You'll be notified by email when your access is approved.

🌐 Culture-Aware Mode
Culture-Aware Mode adapts your messages based on the cultural communication styles of the sender and recipient. It uses research-backed cultural dimensions to help you communicate more effectively across cultural boundaries.
Premium Feature: Culture-Aware Mode is available on Premium tier with access to 10 countries.
How It Works
- Enable the toggle in the Culture-Aware Mode section
- Select your culture (sender) from the dropdown
- Select recipient's culture from the dropdown
- Transform your message as usual
The AI will adapt your message's communication style based on 8 cultural dimensions:

Cultural Adaptations Summary
After each transformation with Culture-Aware Mode enabled, you'll see a summary showing:
- The cultural "distance" between sender and recipient
- Specific adaptations made (e.g., "Softened feedback", "Added relationship-building elements")
- Which dimensions were adjusted and why
Tip: Culture-Aware Mode works with all other features including translation. Your message will first be transformed for positivity, then translated (if enabled), and finally adapted culturally.
📊 Analytics Dashboard
Your personal Analytics dashboard provides insights into your communication patterns and improvement journey. Access it by clicking your username and selecting Analytics.
Overview Stats
The top of your dashboard shows key metrics:
- Total Transforms — How many messages you've improved
- Days Active — Your usage consistency
- Current Streak — Consecutive days of use
- Languages Used — Unique languages you've worked with
Milestone Progress
Track your journey toward communication milestones. Each milestone comes with badges and recognition for your progress.
Improvement Patterns
After you've received at least 5 improvement tips, you'll see your recurring patterns. The AI categorizes tips into 8 areas:

Feature Usage Stats
See how you're using Gentlr's advanced features:

Notifications
A small orange badge appears on the Analytics menu item after every 10 transforms, reminding you to check your stats. The badge clears once you view your Analytics.
Tip: Check your Analytics regularly to understand your communication style and track improvement over time.
📧 Weekly Email Tips
Get personalized communication tips delivered to your inbox every week! Based on your analytics and improvement patterns, we'll send you targeted advice to help you communicate better.
How It Works
- Opt in — Go to Settings → Email Preferences and enable "Weekly Tips Email"
- Choose your week start — Select whether your week begins on Sunday or Monday
- Receive personalized tips — Get an email at the start of each week with tips based on your analytics

Managing Preferences
You can enable, disable, or change your week start preference at any time in Settings → Email Preferences. Unsubscribe links are also included in every email.

Auto-Detection
Gentlr™ automatically detects the language of your input text. You can also manually select the source language if needed.

- English — Transform and translate to English
- Other language — Transform and translate to any supported language
Grammar Options
Some languages require additional grammar settings for accurate output:
- Speaker gender — For languages with gendered verb forms (Hebrew, Spanish, etc.)
- Recipient type — Individual or group
- Formality level — Formal vs. informal address

Transformation Feedback
After each transformation, you can rate the result:
- Look for the 👍 / 👎 buttons below the transformed text
- Click thumbs up if the result was helpful, or thumbs down if it wasn't
- Optionally add a comment explaining what worked or didn't work
💡 Tip: Detailed feedback helps us improve! Let us know if the tone was off, if something was lost in translation, or if the result was particularly good.

To share feedback about the app overall:

What are the subscription tiers?

How do I get more transforms?

Why is Viewsifier™ a premium feature?
Viewsifier™ uses advanced AI processing to analyze your content against a comprehensive LinkedIn playbook. It generates engagement scores, optimization tips, and hashtag suggestions — all requiring significant computation. It's available on Premium tier (3 uses per month).
Is my message data stored?
By default, transformations are not stored permanently. However, if you enable Message History in Settings, your transformations are saved securely to your account for your reference. You control your history settings — you can disable auto-save, set retention periods, or clear history at any time. See our

Can I use Gentlr™ for business communication?
Absolutely! Gentlr™ is designed to help with professional communication. Many users use it for workplace Slack messages, client emails, and LinkedIn content.
What happens when I reach my daily limit?
You'll see a message offering to upgrade your subscription. Your daily transform limit resets at midnight UTC, or you can upgrade to Premium for unlimited transforms.
How accurate is the language detection?
Our language detection works well for messages longer than 10-15 characters. For very short messages or mixed-language text, you may want to manually select the source language.
Can I suggest a new language?
What's the difference between "intensity" levels?
Low intensity makes subtle improvements while keeping your original voice. Medium is balanced (recommended for most users). High intensity rewrites more aggressively for maximum positivity, which is useful for very negative messages.
How do I delete my account?

Viewsifier™ is available by request during our beta period. Select LinkedIn as your platform, click the Viewsifier™ toggle, and submit an access request. Our team typically reviews requests within 24-48 hours and will notify you by email when approved.
How long does it take to get Viewsifier™ access?

Is my message history stored securely?

How do I use Gentlr on other websites?
You have three options: (1) Install our Chrome extension for a floating transform button and right-click menu, (2) Use the bookmarklet by dragging it to your bookmarks bar — it works in any browser, or (3) On iOS, set up a Share Sheet shortcut. Visit the

Can I save my translation preferences?
Yes! When creating or editing a preset, check "Include translation settings" to save your target language and grammar preferences (speaker gender, formality, etc.). The preset dropdown shows a language indicator (→EN, →HE) for presets with saved translation settings.
